Oh, Pookie....!

I have an absolute true appreciation for those who flourish well in the arcane art of Photography, and even more if they do it for a living. For one of my projects, I am using potraits to tell a story, but when I went to take pictures of my first model for it, there were various problems that came to the surface. I sadly didn't have the time to get to our photoshoot studio so I had to settle for foundation rooms which is why it came to this in the first place. I'm kind of reconsidering it at this point, though.

My first very brief, not-really-a-legit-problem problem was that I was slightly too short to pin up the one sheet I had to use and it still wasn't really that sufficient. Luckily, my model was tall enough, and we got it pinned.

After setting up, I realized certain studio lights weren't turning on, so I had to switch gears to another room that had working lights.

Once we got to the room with functioning lights, we set up again and all seemed well.....until I found the room was not at all very well lit. Then, the salt was added when I discovered the positioning of us as apposed to the lights caused very dark shadowing in the face in addition to the room already being a bit dim. It was late, so I don't think I would have had many, if any, lights I could borrow from the school, and that alone could have solved the problem.
But wait! Here's the artichoke of it all: At the first few pictures, I also realized the whole shoot may be doomed because whatever type of light was in there, it caused the picture to take on a warm toned appearance instead of a natural, clear hue. Even a cold tone would have worked but NO!  Oh dear....

I suppose some of it can be fixed in photoshop but I always worry about retouching things, especially when it comes to people's faces. I like to try to keep things as close to the original as I can and looking at these shots, it seems like a lot would need to be done to establish decent contrast. The poses were fine, but the darned lighting messed us over this time. And speaking of the clock, that wasn't on our side either, so I sort of had to do it in a hurry.... But goodness!!! Those lights are so weird!!! How can it cause something to be on the brink of over exposure one area and be ultra dark in another, meanwhile leaving everything else warmly neutral?!?! :iconcryforeverplz:

Meh...Anyway, gotta try to figure this one out....All there is to do is wait and see how the course plays out I guess.
